Description:
ElecTrick started out life as a 11 second 1994 Honda Civic hatch back. After 6
months and a ton of hours, it has been converted in to a one of a kind Electric
Vehicle The entire car was stripped to nothing including wiring, this was to
give room to cut the entire floor out of the car to drop it 4" and to get rid of
the exhaust hump in the middle of the floor. In between the rear tires the floor
was cut and dropped over 12" to make space for 8 of Tsunamis biggest
baddestbatteries, which are wired series/parallel to come up with 48 volts to
run the new drive system. One of the other body mods. was to cut out the entire
side of the car including the B pillar. This was done to give the viewer no
obstacles to view the interior. All outer modifications of the car were done
with SHEET METAL. The biggest modification was to make a hatch back in the rear
to open the rear of the car up like the sides. The hatch was started by cutting
31" out of the roof to make room for the new motorized hatch. The interior of
the car was built around the vision of being open through out. There are 23
Monkey Video screens throughout the car, two of which are 20" in the rear hatch.
Six Monkey video DVD players supply all the video to the screens; all the video
switching is taken care of by a custom 16x16 audio video switcher from KNOX. JBL
supplied all the audio gear for the car there is over 5000 watts of power
including the monster 3000-watt amp in the rear. There are a total of 12
speakers in the Civic, the unique sub enclosure is in the fire wall of the car,
this is the reason we opted for an Electric car was to make room for the sub
enclosure. The two features in the car that separate it from any other are the
joystick in the center console which runs the electric motor the electric brakes
and the electric steering of the car. There are no pedals or no steering wheel
in the car. The other unique feature is the control system from Aurora
Multimedia, there product called the WACI controls the entire car through a
10.4" touch screen and a Sony PSP. The PSP was hacked into by Vin from Aurora,
making the civic the first car in history to be able to be driven by the PSP.
The car would have never been done with out the help of friends and family and
for that we at Metra say thank you!
