use allen head screws or other weird screws, take out the button that opens your trunk and just use common sense by not leaving things around where they can be seen.

Posted by Puppeterr on 10-25-2006 03:43 PM:

keep the OEM deck visible and hide the after market that way they wont know you have a system

Posted by 00chevymalibu on 10-25-2006 09:30 PM:

just dont go in to school with your system bumping s o they dont know you have one. and if you have a detachable face plate you could take that off.

Backstaping can be quite time consuming.

Posted by mesatrin on 10-25-2006 11:47 PM:

JB-weld a hoop bracket to the bottom of the back deck...If not a hatch. Then you can add another bracket onto what every you want to chain down and put locks on it.

If some one wants to take your stuff they will. You can just make it a little harder, and time consuming for them.

decks the first thing a theif takes. theres always the razorblade trick... however illegal it is.

Posted by Raiderboy on 10-26-2006 08:35 PM:

brackets take time to take off. hide your stuff as best as you can. yeah, just try to bracket everything in. who wants to deal with all that?

Best idea ever. i thought about this as well. ill be doing the welding my self witha buddy. so cheap, works great. Fuck pussy bitches who jack shit. Haters....

Posted by illnoiz on 10-27-2006 10:56 PM:

I use steel cable to hold my stuff down and incorporate it into the install. Then i wrap it around the spare tire support and put a lock on it. I've seen theifs that just take a crow bar and rip the front of the box face off, so i don't use brackets.

How do you do the razorblade trick???

Posted by DjStr8 on 10-31-2006 11:36 PM:

Bolt down your rear seats if they fold and put a chain thru ur trunk lid and padlock it the hoop the trunk locks onto. Then bolt a metal cable to the back of ur radio and then to your firewall. And never play your system by ur house or by a place where your going to be parked for a long time.

stop bein a bitch and f*ck the kidz up before they steal it! lol .. but yea...alarms ARE NOT going to scare anybody...if the people stealin the shit have half a brain they can find an alarm brain...spend the money and get a SECURITY SYSTEM...HUGE difference...if your that worried about your shit gettin stolen...do the math...System cost plus value of car...however much that is...and then a security system is wat 1000-2000 bux for a pretty solid one...cmon now!

For 600 or less you can get a viper 791vx which is a nice 2 way pager alarm.

Posted by salcedohumberto on 11-08-2006 12:35 PM:

2 Way Pager alarms, like Audiovox Prestige APS-997 or 998 (very cool), Autopage, Viper 791xv or theyr new one that has a 1 mile Range work great altho viper is overpriced and overated for me but well its not about me...

get it installed with a Trunk Pin & Hood Pin (triggers) if its a "new" car they dont even have to Install Pins, just get to the Actual Wire that Triggers when you have the Hood or Trunk open

get a 2 Stage Microwave Proximity Sensor

get a Glass Break Sensor

and get a Siren w/ a Back Up Battery so if they try to cut the wire it still goes off....actually get 2...one under the Hood...and one under/inside the Front Passenger Lower Dash Panel

have this installed by a profesional, make sure you get ALL the components Installed...Kill Switch, Door Trigers, Keyless Entry, Shock Sensor, Dome Supervision.

time to install it should be around 4 hours...and expect to pay for the alarms lets say the audiovox prestige 997 about 350$-450$ + 100$ for the other sensors + whatever the sirnes w/ batteries will cost you.

razorblade trick is a nasty way of punishing anyone who tries to take your deck. essentially, when they try and pop the deck out from the back of the sleeve they get their fingers cut off. I dont know if anyone actually does it anymore, but I remember lots did it in high school before car alarms became so affordable, and decks were twice as much as they are now.

Alarms DO work, if done right!

"Alarms ARE NOT going to scare anybody"

Depends how much you customize the 'alarm/security system' & the thief (bold or a punk kid).

Here is my personal good true story of a alarm vs no alarm (Alarm Success Story & other theft prevention tips from a alarm installer. MUST READ!)

It is very worthwhile & educational to read! ;)
