I was just curious if anyone knows of a good website that has listing of upcoming car audio shows in certain areas??  I've never been to a dB drag event so i was wondering if that's a type of event to go to if your just going to be a spectator and are wanting to be able to see different system installs up close.

Definately...you can go to those and walk around checking out everyones setups and take some notes on ideas to try out yourself with your setup...
