so i put in a new head unit, the previous owner of my car ripped it to shit so i have the red 12v trigger cord naturally hooked up but i had to run my own 12v constant to the battery. only problem is my HU wont turn on with the car and wont turn off with the car, its not working right. i made sure i didnt switch any wires and the only way i got it working correctly is by connecting the 12v trigger wires and the 12v constant wires all together, thats the only way it works and its pissing me off because now my radio will turn on even when my car is dead off and it stays on i have to manually turn it off. wtf do i do. i was told i could run it through a fuse such as the windshield wipers since they turn on and off with the ignition. BUT IDK HELP ME.

dont use the wiper fuse...use the radio fuse power at the fuse block ;) ( wiper motors are not filtered so it will induce noise)

and how do i go about that?

look in the owners manual or on the fuse panel..if you can find the wiper fuse you can find the radio fuse ;)

i remember my first cd player install in my first car...it was a jvc kameleon and it drained my battery cause it stayed on all night...lmao good times...never again though
