i install Absolute alarms daily and havent had a problem with them till this day but the best way to protect your sh*t is a gunn, preferably something loud that will scare the inrtuders and assure you that they wonr come back :-)

Also, any one know a good system that can notify the owner if the alarm is going off?

In my truch, I put a relay to power the ignition. theres a remote switch hidden, and NO ignition nomatter whattouches on the key switch if its off. Every night its off. I leave my keys in there sometimes.

It's 99% install anyway, beyond that, they're all a collection of relays(switches). Some modules may be better than others, but who cares.

Last major one I did was 99$ from a wholesale catalogue with 400$ worth of extras. You knew when it went off a half mile away without a pager ;o)

I prefer Scytek Alarms for the money they are hard to beat

I saw some of the Scytek alarms over at www.judysdeals.com and they have them side by side with Viper and Clifford. Features are almost the same and they are way cheaper!

A friend of mine just installed the 8000 model and it has a color camera that takes a picture of the thief!

I installed it myself and it wasn't too bad.. All instructions came with it.

Damn, I just noticed the judysdeals.com just put up a ton of name brand alarms for low prices! Even lower than when I bought mine from them.

Here is that Scytek system you guys were talking about. Yeah, it is way cheaper than the name brand stuff and well worth the cost. It takes pictures of whoever is stealing your car too, so that is a KILLER option to have.

There is also a company called CrimeStoppers which isn't bad either.  Like a previous poster said, it all just a collection of relays and switches.

 I have Ungo

I have a MS9000 in my Blazer and SR9000 in my cars. 2 mile pager capability probably one of the best dual stage shock sensors I have ever seen.  I have never had a false from it from a bus or loud stereo. window roll up remote start starter and fuel disable. even have  a module thats sends a pulse to the brake module to lock the brakes down.  Im into it with installs on the cars about 400 each.
