Question for you, how do you seperate your paragraphs? bit of newb in that respect. I am not sure what "PWM" does exactly, and i am not sure if it is the prefferd or not. In respect to the OS PPI amps, there is much debate as to which was the best, its hard to say. I am about the same with the OS choices, the Zapco stuff new and old is great product. New stuff is very expensive though particularily their top end stuff. I was looking at basically the same for new, the ZED is comparable to the JL in every way in my opinion, but 1/3 the cost.
I know what you mean about the JL stuff. Wow...the local guy told me $727 for a 500/5...then another 125 for install...and $65 in parts needed to fabricate it all. I will bet the OS stuff sounds just as good for a 1/3 the price too. I bought the three MTX amps with Orion and PPI boards for less than that. A LOT LESS. I have $400 in the three of them. (I ended up buying one blue BTA and two red MTA's...still on the lookout for a white MTA 225 and/or 250.

I have seen the white MTA 225 and 250's before not too often though. From what i read they were pretty sweet amps. It may have been "justonemoreamp" on ebay who had them, i cant recall. What i love is that the ZED is about 1/3 the cost of the JL stuff and every bit as good IMHO. I am toying with idea of buying amps just for collection sake, i love OS amps.

justonemoreamp
I hate justonemoreamp, how does he do it?
I've seen that guy post 100s of pristine old school amps/eqs/sub for years now. Where the hell could someone get all that stuff?
If I have a few grand, I could go to town!!!

Me too, part of me was debating between putting money into my Retirement plan or buying all his stock...lol. He has a sweet collection for sure. There was another guy on a different forum, canadiancaraudio.com i think. There was a thread on there about who has the rarest amp, this guy had a sick collection. He had at least 15 OS Zapco's, a bunch of Linear Power, Phoenix Gold you name it, unreal.

That's cool, I don't think I have seen that model Punch. One of the first Punch amplifiers I knew of about was the Punch 45. That was a stout 22.5 watt per channel amp. Underrated of course. Troy

Thanks for the info. Man that amp sure doesn't look like much, but the specs sound great. We've got more cosmetic stuff happening these days. That Bass Mekanik amp is pretty cool too. What company made those? I know there is a BASS music artist who calls himself this. Troy

Maaaan. Those are some sweeet OS amps! That Fosgate is ANCIENT! I have a pretty old home amp my father handed down to me...but sadly...when I was into car stereos back in the '80's I always had to "trade up" and never kept what I was unloading.
What I DO have...that I'll scan and post this week...is my old IASCA score sheet for my last competition. :-)
I took second in the consumer class. :-D

US Amps, yes another great brand. I don't know how good the newer Xterminator line is though? That's more of a value line. Troy - carbudgetaudio.com
