short random update, i got more fiberglass resin. I only mixed one ounce at at time and finished hardening my fleece. then i single coat glassed one of the panels. since i have never glassed before i am basically making it up as i go. i made a big mess and got all sticky. but i got it done ok. im not yet to worried as i have a lot of sand paper, hoping that bottom line i can just sand it perfect in the end!!!!!!
on a random side note for anyone that listens to my bable,
has any one really taken a good look at this amp before. i know that other companies make amps as capable as this one, i know that zedaudio 6channel which trumps the hell out of this sundown and ddaudio has a active capable 4 channel amp too, but thats not the point exactly. this amp is amazing, granted it only crossed at 5khz tops but still, if someone was interested they could run a regular headunit and get two of these amps and run 4way active while bridging from 8 down to 7, and have a small 300w 10-12"sub, man!!!! or just a nice 3way active with a mono sub amp coupled with this 4channel. you know with these amps being made and as long as zedaudio is around i think that i will survive the death of 3way active headunits and the cost of 4way active pioneers......

Sundown amps are badass as all hell. They do well over rated power at only 12 volts and since they have unregulated power supplies you can take advantage of any extra voltage you can maintain.
WOW, yes yes yes, now that is what im talking about, and darn smart too, that other pioneer is pricey, this is priced right for me and will surely by my next headunit purchase after my alpine wares out. they are smart to make a smaller version of their amazing 4way, monopolizing with the only active units out............
i have glassed up one and cut my fleece on one today i should finish glassing today, and then on to some sanding and bondo, i have a few bubbles and blemishes here and there but for my first time it is ok i think.
finished glassing, did some bondo, the bondo is great, easy to work with easy to cover flaws and dries strong, i am excited!!!!
I have a decent profile amp, stamped 400watts so it should be about 100w per channel ish, it has highpass crossover that will let me cross where i need the amp should work for now, not as large as i would like but it will do for now.......
i ran out of bondo go figure so i will have to wait till next check to finish it all up.....
Took a little vacation, sorry.
GILLETTE, I am shipping this stuff tomorrow. DO NOT feel compelled to use it. Its just stuff. Pass it on if you see someone else who may be able to take advantage of it.
If you drill little 1/8" holes all over the vinyl panel you are glassing.... the painted resin fills these holes, then when it hardens, the little filled holes materialize as rivets... that make sense? This allows for better adhesion to the plastic.
ANY FABRIC that has the word poly in it, will work for glassing. ALWAYS use a poly/spandex blended cloth so it stretches AND bonds with resin. I like 94% polyester with 6% rayon/spandex.
NOTE: cloth stretches differently when pulled from opposing directions. Always tug cloth north/south then east/west and verify which directions the fabric allows for greater expandability.
PLASTIC GLOVES(100 ct. box), CUPS, BRUSHES(10 pack)- Use party cups, 1"-2" wide brushes(non plastic)... COVER every dam thing you do not want to get glass on.
The intention to paint the final piece is the worst thing about glassing. If you choose a cover material like, carpet, vinyl, carbon fiber, etc... you can allow for considerably more imperfections in texture and symmetry, thus, less sanding.
Thanks again mister, for the stuff in advance, i will surely utilize it.
thanks for the glassing information. I wish I would have drilled some holes in everything first that is smart, i did not, oh well, everything feels really strong though so im thinking it will be fine for my first job.
I have located a well matching paint for my interior and i have a fair amount of high raise primer, i also have a large amount of sandpaper ranging from 40-400grit, i also have time on my side so i am planning on painting, i dont know exactly what im getting into her but im learning a lot as i go, ill keep posting
Might I suggest on your next fiberglass endevour to use duraglass instead of bondo. It is essentially the same thing but duraglass is formulated with short strand fiberglass fibers in it that also add strength and is less prone to cracking which can sometimes happen with bondo.

WELL, this isn't easy to say, but its the truth, so, so be it.
Online, I was quoted about $15.00 for shipping costs. When I got there, they wanted $26.00. I had $20.00 in my pocket, reserved for the charges... I could of afforded up to $20.00, and yes, I am that broke to not be able to afford six more mofo dollars. Circumstantially, that is.
I'll need a little more time before I can drop the $26.00. Like next week I should be good to go.
Thank you, that means a lot to me coming from you. I am quite pleased with it, actually Im feeling a little boastful about the whole thing!!!! I cant believe that i (so far) am pulling it off. I still have the other one to do, so now I start sanding and bondo-ing that one hoping to have similar results. I will have to run some wiring and then it will be done deal and on to the doors for some glassing to fit my dual 6.5" driver design.............
I will hopefully get at least one side installed so i can get up a photo of it in the truck soon!!!!!
