need help picking out a new system!!!

im deciding to upgrade my shitty aftermarket stereo system and i need help. i've decided im gonna go with alpine on everything. im getting the swx-1243 subs (2) and the mrp-m2000 amp (1). both the subs combined are 2,000 rms and the amp is also. so i think im good with that but i wasnt sure about the box. is there a good website to buy them from or should i just build one? should it be ported or sealed?

im also thinking about getting a rockford fosgate rfc2d 2 farad capacitor. ik some people arnt so sure about them but i was wondering if it will help save my life on my alternator in my car? some people said that my alternator might get fucked up with having all that power in my subs.

i already bought 6.5" alpine spr-17s (2way - componet - 110 rms each). they came with a 2-way crossover and a set of tweeters. is it best for me to put them in the front or rear? i'm thinking front but i wanted to know because im gonna purchase another set of 6.5" alpines (prolly the spr-17c: 2way - coaxil - 100 rms each). is that a good pair for the rear or should i look at a differnt type of alpine?

im also looking at buying the pdx-f4 amplifier to power all for of my alpines. its a 4ch. amp with 100rms/ch. is that a good amp to get?

you will surely want to run an amplifier to the component mids that you have and you will also want them in front and put the coaxial set in the rear. i will not recommend you use a capacitor, they are a waste of money, upgrade your vehicles factory grounding system with larger gauge wire this will help your alternator last longer. you may get a good battery to go close to your amplifier which will help much more than a capacitor, like a kinetik or xs power or something. even look into upgrading your factory alternator it cant hurt. Try and google sub boxes and you should come up with a range of different companies that make enclosures. i say you should make your own though. I am a ported fan, you get so much more out put from the sub and if you tune the port low you can still keep good sound quality. sealed is the easiest and yields great results though. if you port your box i will recommend that you port around 32hz to 35hz.

In the future, consider going with brands that specialize in that particular field. Meaning, Diamond audio makes speakers and amps. 12-12" sub wall with 7000w of their power hits 160db. Companies that invest in every line of a full system, they concentrate less on each product line. Beyond that, your vehicle doesn't even produce 2000w, and you plan to throw in a amp that takes that amount? Can we back up to hearing your wiring solution and how you're going to generate that kind of power? I take it you have never sat inside a Alpine demo vehicle and listened to it play... I hope I do not sound harsh..

with what you have then i suggest putting the coax in the rear and the comp. in the front as for the box what vehicle is it? I'm going to go out on a limb and say a honda but a modle would be nice. Don't use a cap they arn't worth it a second battery is better and costs about the same. I would suggest getting a bigger alt cause the stock alt. probably wont keep up twith the current demands and do the big 3

the type R is a better all around sub than the type x especialy for the $

wow for the money you spending you could of gotten a lot better sound quality and loud stuff with way better warr then the alpine crap. You also better look at upgrading the crap out of your electrical setup and adding in batteries to power that system up.

OH, you arent supposed to say that after he has spent the money, ouch... You are right though!!! i like alpine well enough they make pretty good stuff. i mean it will be much harder to make a 150db street machine with alpine, but for general usage alpine is ok.... i mean i like alpine headunits personally. and the high end components they have are not bad. they are not keeping up with what is going on in the real audio world with new super high end 3-way component mids and 2000watts+ rms handling monster db subswoofers...... but alpine is still good....

THANK YOU MAX, gosh sometimes I feel I am alone on advising people to do things the right way. Alpine has been around long enough to have cut every corner possible in producing their product. Then they win the 2010 CES award because of some fancy opening doors and a Batman steering wheel. WTF did that BMW have to do with audio?
