 Luminance wire?

I do lots of headunit and I use Wire harneses for diferent cars, I always stumble across a ORANGE wire that says ILL, i take it it stands for the lighting thig, WHERE does it go? where do I connect this, some radios don't have it and some do, WHERE DOES THIS WIRE GO? DO I NEED IT?

If your harness doesn't have a wire for it, you don't need it. ILL wire is for illumination of your head unit. I'm not exactly sure why it is there either. All I can tell you is that if your wiring harness for your vehicle has no orange wire...there is no need to hook it up. However do be careful....hook up your power antenna wire, even if you don't have one. Dodge (with the infinity system) and some Ford (this is all I know of there may be more) use the power antenna wire to send the signal to the factory amplifier.....so hook that up...

 illumimation wire

hey the orange wire is for the illumination, its for when you turn on your head lights the deck brightness will dim hope this helps
