I think he is learning his lesson, he sent me an email:
"im sorry for all my bull shit there really is a 2400 watt sony"
I did some research, and Sony did make an amp w/ 2400 WATTS printed on it, it was back when Sony and RF were crucified by the CEA for outrageous power ratings on their amps, like the 1200 watt one that only put out an actual 480 @ 2ohm. That when they made them huge slabs that were like 2 1/2 ft. long and 1 ft wide and had boards that were like 6"x6"...LOL... As for a fiber carbon enclosure, can you imagine what one would cost to build, I checked into a carbon fiber trunk lid and it was like $500, so why would I even want to bother w/ an enclosure that would probably cost at least that to have made. I'll stick w/ MDF and Fiberglass.
I'm hoping you learned a valuable lesson here EAN, we are here to help and assist you in creating a nice sound system, many of us have our own cars on here and verified our installs to prove they belong to us. We are not here to argue over what is better, who has the baddest shit, we are here to learn and to assist those that do not have a vast knowledge and/or experience in car audio. So when you come on here, come correct or don't come at all, simple as that. And to answer your ?, why bother, get a nice MDF or fiberglass enclosure made, you will be happier in the long run and it won't cost your left nut to have built.
