This brand may be a Wal-Mart exclusive, so you may be stuck with Wal-Mart's price. I cann't seem to find the head unit anywhere else than Wal-Mart. Also, the WMS373 doesn't seem to be available at Wal-Mart. You might want to check and make sure. They have the WMS353 (the one I have), it doesn't have aux inputs and has only slightly less power, so it may not even be noticable, and it also plays MP3s. I cann't really give you a fair judgement of the product, because I just got it hooked up today, but it does seem to be a good deal for the money, and I am pretty happy thus far. It plays sufficiently loud and looks nice. It did do a strange thing with an MP3 but it did end up playing it ok (I don't know if a perfect MP3 player exists). But that doesn't necessarily make it a bad product. It has a microcomputer inside, and you know how computers can be sometimes. (imperfect) Well the price on this one is about $93 after tax. Good luck.

most Xtreme stereos have the same plug on the back if you bought the stereo at wal-mart there suppose to open the box when you buy it and show that all the stuff is in the box. If they did not then go back to the retailer where you bought the stereo and demand a new plugin.
if its not new then most pawn shops carry second handed Xtreme stereos and you can buy one fairly cheap just for the plugin.

Xtreme sound WMS373
My brother bought an Xtreme Sound MP3 player.
I was skeptical at first - I own 6 car stereos
(alpines and sonys) so I figured it's not very
good. I recently picked up a fuel efficient
car for communting purpose and decided to buy
a cheap mp3 headunit so I picked an Xtreme
head unit on advice of my brother. I got the
WMS353. The faceplate looks like an Alpine 7874
faceplate!
When I connected it, I was amazed at the sound
considering I paid $90 for it. The MP3 player
is amazing. I picked up a dusty CD with
over 100 mp3 recorded as data (basically a
backup of my songs that came from my desktop).
I put it in and it played it with no problems.
I can have the one CD in my car for days w/o
me getting bored of it.
I was also able to record lectures, audio books,
and self improvement audio mp3s on the CD which I will listen to on my long daily commute.
THe xtreme audio WMW353 is highly recommeded :),
esp if you don't care about name brand and
want a good sounding MP3 player headunit.u

I swapped out the factory stereo for the wms353. If you are replacing the factory stereo, the factory stereo might have the wire configuration on it. I have a Blazer the factory wire scheme was on the top left corner of the factory head unit. I don't know if this is the case with the one your asking about. I think you may be able to find the adapter kit at Wal-Mart too.
This unit really does put out some nice sound. It seems to do some odd things though sometimes, but some of it just may be in my vehicles electric system sometimes. I've got around $350 in my entire system, and it sounds pretty nice. It includes an inexpensive Lighting Audio 12" sub ($40), and a cheapo VR3 200 watt max amp ($50), but it can belt out some pretty good bass.

Yes, Walmart does sell a harness. I bought one
for about $7 and wired it to the headunit at 4am.
Next morning, I plugged it into the car's harness
and was in business :). Nice unit for a "cheap"
stereo... It's a keeper.
I had one quirky thing that happen this am.
I heard it cutting out, but I noticed that MP3
had a high recording level so it's probably
not the WMS353 headunit.

Have you tried getting the car stereo connector by "Schosche" for your model vehicle, instead of trying to find one for the head unit, the head unit has its' own plugs. It won't be completely "plug and play", there will be a little wiring, but can easily be done without reaching into the dash (like I did), then you can plug it in to the factory wiring. (this way everything will be labeled for you on the wms 353 and on the "Schosche" connector.

i already have the harness for my vehicle. i believed the 373 model required a adaptor to plug into the back of the head unit. and i need to figure out all the pins in the back.

All you really need to find is the "Schosche" connector for your vehicle, and it sounds like you still have the factory wiring harness. The connector should plug directly to your factory wiring harness. You won't have to figure out the wiring scheme if you use the "Schosche" connector, because the wires will be labeled. You will have to wire the connector to the wires of the Xtreme sound unit, these should also be labeled. Then you plug it right in. You may have to run one wire straight from the battery though to connect to the "memory 12v+" if you find that you have this wire left over on the head unit. (I don't know that you will because I didn't use the Schosche connector) Anyway, I believe you may be looking for something you won't find at Wal-Mart, you were looking for the connector for the head unit. Instead, look for the Schosche connector for your vehicle, not for the head unit. The reason I knew my wiring scheme because it was on the factory head unit itself. If I had it to do over I think I would have used the connector because I could have done the wiring without reaching in the dash, which was a pain because there wasn't extra wire extending out into the cab where I could easily get to it, and they are only about $7 - $10.
