YELLOW WIRE NOT ENOUGH JUICE!!!
Hey there guys, I'm new I hope someone can help me... i bought myself a SONY CDX MM9900 from best buy had them install it... not sure if that was a great IDea on my part... but got it installed LOVE THE CD PLAYER>.. so awsome.. apparently I can't save any of my presets... So, I've been busy.. but one day i called there tech help sony.. and they said that it had to do with the yellowwire... I guess it's not getting enough power to save my presets.. so my question to you is, that can I get fix it myself, without having to go down to best buy again.. or what?
Thanks

you probably have the yellow wire on your head unit connected to the "accessory wire" instead of the "constant power" wire in your cars wiring harness. use a voltmeter to test which wire has power going through it with no key in your car. connect the yellow wire to that.
sounds like another good reason to never let the yokels at BestBuy touch your car.

Actually, it might not be their fault, to an extent. When I got my new Sony headunit (much lower on the totem pole than yours), the instruction manual had the power and accessory wires reversed, so that if you installed it the way they directed, it wouldn't save the presets. A quick switharoo and all's well.
Of course, they should have tested to see if your stereo was working properly before sending you off.
