is there any way to disable DVD not playing while in drive AVIC-n2

do you guys know if any way to disable the feature on the avic-n2 that allows you play a DVD while driving? the N1 is becoming very scarse to buy (i cant seem to find one anywhere but on eBay) I know you can rig the emergency brake thing on the N1 but what about the N2. I heard it works of a gyroscope or something.

 Dont expect help

i wouldnt expect too much help in this or basically any audio forum with your question. youre trying to do something illegal, very unsafe, and generally boneheaded. Just watch your dvds while parked.

Wow, considering I go on road trips about once a month with 2-3 passengers, that was a super assumption you made. It's so they could pass the time while on these trips.

Congratulations on posting your thoughts without knowing the situation. I could care less about WATCHING DVDs while driving. It's not for me. Besides, with the amount of driving I do, the navigation DVD would be in the player 90% of the time anyway for course changes.

Way to make yourself look like a complete idiot. Dumbass. thanks for your useless response.

it doesnt matter whether i know the situation or not. your trying to bypass a safety feature on a headunit. its within the view of the driver so dont tell me you'll never sneak a peak at it. i know better. just get a rear seat unit or a portable. peace

Yeah, I might sneak a peak every once in a while but no more than what I’m sure I would do with the navigation on or when viewing the graphical display of the vehicles speed, temperature, etc.

Currently, when I'm on a trip, the passenger usually has a laptop with a DVD playing with the audio connected to my radio and I'm listening to the DVD while driving. : ) It really helps with passing the time!

Easy, bypass the protection. I don't know ANYTHING about mobile video, but a lot about electronics... Basically, it probably has some kind of sensor to know if the car is moving right? Just bypass the sensor by bridging the input with the line out... If its a wire connected to the car, try feeding the wire with a lower voltage than it recieves when in drive... I dunno, just bypass the dealy...

 Already up and running

I have the AVIC-N1. talk about diffcult to find. I must have called 40 different radio shops and i lucked out when this one guy had one for sale that one of his installers had just taken out of his car. It works like a charm. Navigation is pretty accurate. Reception is great. sound and adjustments are dead on. my only complaint is the address selection is not that great but i think i just need to read more in the book to find out exactly what i'm doing. : )
