 Two subs in two boxes?

Is it possible to connect two same subs in same boxes to one amplifier and to expect that the quality of the sound they are producing would be more or less the same as if only one sub was used?

I'm not sure I understand this correctly but let me try. First off, yes you can connect 2 subs in 2 seperate boxes to the same amp. There may be several ways to connect them that would power them differently depending on the voice coils. The quality should be the same as long as the amp can provide enough power. With 2 subs you should notice a louder bass sound. I am in the process of doing this and I hope it sounds better than a single sub.

with going from one to two drivers, several things happen. B/C power travels in a line (your speaker wiring) there is a slight delay in speaker movement (although not often noticable). This will cause a slightly more "muddied up" sound. Also, these can be caused by slight inconsistencies in the drivers themselves. Often, this jump from one to two drivers in terms of sq is unnoticable to many, especially for those of us who are simply going for more volume. The only other problem with one compared to two drivers is the small chance that the second driver's sound waves reflect off something in the vehicle and cause cancellation with the first sub's. This is often a rare occurence and can be fixed by moving the box around. Bottom line: If you want ultimate sq, stay with 1, but 2 will be louder.
