$600 wouldnt cover it,Im with him on this one,the 9255 is a great unit, that or a Pioneer P1/P9 either one,Sony also makes a great unit that has a display unit instead of a HU,its all ran from a hide-away preamp unit.

Shoot... Any headunit that can punch an ACTUAL 50 RMSX4, with 0.05% THD up to 300 dB... That means this thing ain't distorting for awhile!

... that would be your amp/subs, and the loudest achievable spl level in earth's atmosphere is less than 200 db.. clarion 9255, eclipse 8455, or top notch pioneer premier.. (all more than 600 though) and I have a dxz945mp, which would also be up there :)

A friend of mine used to have a sony cdx-c90 in his ram and that was an awesome head unit. I believe he had every add on you could get for it and I was really impressed with the sq. I'd probably jump on one of those if I could if not probably a 9835 or if money was no object I'd get a 7990.

Nice attempt player.

My dream head unit (under 600) is the Alpine CDA-9855. Alpine's sound quality has always been better than almost anyones, BUT this glide touch bar is really scaring me (yes, please tell me it's ok).

Pioneers new stuff looks sweet... but functions quite the opposite... a joystick while you're driving?

I'd spend $150-$200 on one with 3 sets of 4v pre-outs with a remote and no broken buttons...pocket the rest.

What can I say - I aim high.

the first time I read that, I thought you said "What can I say - I AM high." And I almost replied with "Whoa, right on, me too!!" But it turns out I read that wrong.

...I guess what I'm trying to say is, "Kids, drugs are bad."
