Help with my System!!!
Let me start with my system so far:
Front: Stock components 6 1/2" & tweet
Rear: MB Quart 6x9
Sub: Infinity Perfect 10" dvc
Front amp: Soundstream Picasso 110 x 2
Rear amp: Hifonics Odin 75 x 2
Sub amp: Kicker KX400.1
I have a line converter going factory CD player, then the Stinger RCA's going back to the Soundstream and Hifonics amps so I can still use fader. I have rca's going from Soundstream out to the Kicker In. The sub is wired in parallel + to + and - to -, so the amp is run at 2 ohms.
So here is the problem... Sounds like sub is getting very very little power to it. When I remove one side of rca it becomes louder, and it doesn't matter if I take of black or red, but is not as it should be.
This is what I have done to check system:
1. Hooked up a svc 10" Hifonics sub to amp and sounds the same.
2. Hooked Infinity Perfect up to one side of Soundstream amp to see a 2 ohm load and its very loud and clear.
3. Hooked up svc Hifonics sub to Soundstream amp bridged mono at 4ohm and nothing...sounds like the Kicker amp... like its getting very little power.
4. Bypassed the Soundstream amp and connected rca's to Kicker and nothing..very little power.
5. Checked speaker connections, and rca's switched them around.
6. I also tried the Hifonics in bridged mono mode to svc Hifonics sub and same thing... and I had them installed in my truck in brideged mono mode and worked great.
Everything is hooked up properly fronts and rear sound great, but once I try and get a sub in mono mode (either with Kicker, Soundstream, or Hifonics)...nothing, sub sounds like its getting very little power. I running Stinger 4 gauge power and ground wires.
Any ideas? suggestions? I'm lost! thanks.

Please check your RCA's to see if they are not faulty, secondly, I would check the subs voicecoil using the multimetre, Press down the cone whilst having your probes on the speaker terminal, If all your amps work fine as you say, also check the voltage on the amps with your stereo turned on. I am guessing that there must be a voltage drop somewhere. If all fails, check your in-line converter, the one I am using has a gain for left and right channels. and you can increase gain on the converters as well. Try another converter if the problem persists. You did not mention having any electronic or passive crossovers as well, if you do try replacing them from a friend for testing purposes.
Hope this is helpful.
