my new install gallery!
got my install gallery up, check it out.. special thanks to OlogyAudio for being legit :) and hooking me up with a set of great sounding components.. what i got from him was pair of dayton RS180S 7" woofers and pair of RS28A tweets, hooked together with some custom xovers built by and designed by OlogyAudio, just got them installed, not broke in yet, and they sound SOOOOOOOOOOO much better than my previous setup (hehe stock speakers )... so if you looking to upgrade, please send him an email or something cuz he did a good job.. just make sure you can fit his xovers whereyou want first, check gallery for size of them.... other than that, aoiemfaoeimfaeoifmAWSOME! couldnt ask for more ! :) thank you again for letting me be one of your customers Ology :) peace...

Hey! Awesome! I've been watching for someone to post results of their experience with the Ology setups. Thanks for posting! Ology seems to be a very stand-up guy and very knowlegable. Looks like you got yourself a nice setup that can easily compare with some very expensive alternatives. Good work on the install too.

YAY!

Review from Jason is also to come -- in depth review... :)
Compared the 6" RS 2 way set with the Boston Z6 set and -- I was about to say mine blew them out of the water but those boston acoustics are nice as hell -- nothing can actually BLOW THEM AWAY... but mine were the clear winners... Sound more detailed -- better response under 500hz -- cleaner midrange -- and the with the RS tweeter you can pick out absolutely every single compression artifact from your mp3s :) -- everything in the recording comes out just the way that the people in the recording studio didn't have good enough equipment to notice... including microphone/preamp clipping :)
Go out and listen to some Z6 component sets and imagine what mine sound like
Needless to say the BA Z6 = $1k in the stores... $700 online.... mine rule them and for a short time you can pick my component sets up for about $300! not too shabby... before long you will be seeing them in stores for $800 (the idea is for local shops to be able to compete with sweet online deals) and then you will be kicking yourself!
They will take rainbow platinums head on -- and there will be no clear winner :) -- infact they sound very similar...

yeah I wouldnt mind playing with a set of those.
I dont know if your components can fit into my door tho,
I think I have like 2" of mounting depth before it hits my window track.

yea you would have to make speaker pods or kick panels for these suckers... it is tough finding anything to fit with 2" of mounting depth though (that sounds good at least without costing an arm and a leg)!
If you can get them installed there is nothing better out there for the money... the amount of money I've made so far is less than minimum wage with all the time I've put into this haha -- but at this stage it is just prototyping... I'll actually start making money when dealers pick me up. The more people are out there with my prototypes the more likely that one of the local shops in your area will pick them up... and the more people will know about my product :)

Nice looking stuff there...
Nice looking stuff there... Those speakers will perform best in tuned enclosures!! Your door will only give you about 50% of what they can do! Also I recomend a 3 way configuration when using a mids woofer above 5" WHY??? Beacuse rolloff will be smoother and you wil have less gaps in the frequency responce and your vocal will be better controled! I'm sure Ology can fabricate a 3 way system!!!

yep those RS drivers perform better in ported enclosures :) they also do alright in an overdamped situation such as a car door... in a small sealed they also do OK but I'd avoid that :) -- loose bass response -- gain quality (assuming you stop everything else from resonating that is :) which isn't going to happen in a door unless you rly go crazy with it...
Also I was quite careful with the design of these... there is no 'gap' in the frequency response at all... no overlap ethr :)... Infact I used an innovation of my own to help control frequency response off axis at the xover point... it is still +-3dB (other than the natural tweeter response rolloff off axis...) 80 degrees off axis!!! Better than +- 1.5dB 30 degrees off axis... granted things change with crappy installs but this one is good enough :) -- Granted controlled very narrow dispersion patterns are great... they are impractical for use in a car environment... you would have to spend more $$$ on the install than the speakers...
Also I was able to cross VERY low due since well the RS tweeter is awesome... again my xover design makes c2c between tweeter and midwoofer less of an issue than with conventional designs, upto 4x the wavelength separation in the z axis at least... going past this will start to produce some funny effects in terms of imaging though...
Yep though I do have 3 ways... One is using the 6" rs and 8" rs :) -- there are c2c rules that need to be adhered to more strictly with the 8" and 6" -- also have a budget version in the works using a crummier tweeter (still good though) -- the 3 way using the neo, 6", 8" is done... just working on the 5" and 6" 2 way versions... Should shave almost $90 off parts costs... and still get a very nice sound... less headroom though... It's all about tradeoffs...
In a year hopefully I'll have some money to work with and I can order up my own batches of drivers... and not have to use the standard RS drivers :)
