How to easily/realistically compare the feature sets of different MP3 compat head units?

Hi all, I have several things (largely based on my use of winamp for my PC based MP3 collection) in mind when selecting an MP3 compat head unit, but have no idea where to find out how different models fare, other than physically testing each one. Any idea where to start? - Can many head units cope with extended directory structures, like top level directories for genre's etc? eg. so it can confine shuffles to one genre, or artist or whatever? - Instead of displaying track info based on dir structure, can they use the ID3 tags in each MP3 file Toggle between the two? - What about doing shuffles based on the info in the ID3 tags? - What about masking of certain tracks? eg. "don't play track xxx again...."? - Any have playlists? - Are any units sensetive to the bitrates that MP3 files might be encoded at? I've heard of some portable MP3 units insisting on certain bitrates... - screensize? The more characters available to display genra/artist/album/title info the better... :) - Can any units display the CD name (eg. "My collection #6")? sTu.

Check out Alpine's high end line of CD/MP3 units! I have a feeling they will provide you with all the features your heart desires. If not... Get a kenwood deck that will operate the MusicKeg. A 10 GIG hard drive for misic. Just went from $749 to $499. Tweeter.com will help you find one close to you. Travis

Thanks, I'll check them out. I'd still like to see some sort of review/comparison of the various units to see which have more... sTu.
