How did your install come about?

My install (Madam Blue) came to be by accident.

Here's my story.

When I arrived in my town 4 years ago,(when I got out of prison)I had two Novas (1966s)One was a showcar, and the other was a parts chaser, very much like Madam Blue and Misty.
Things were going fine starting off at the bottom again, cause that was all I had (not even any clothes or place to stay. So I sold the showcar for 10 grand and found this apt that I am at now (Thanx to this town's police chief, which is another story, who also got me a job making peanut butter)

When I got here, It was the pits really I mean a real dump,But thats another story as well. Anyways, after about a year, One of my nephews needed a place to stay untill he got on his own cause his Mother was allready deceased and he just lost his father to a long battle with cancer and wasnt old enough to be on his own legally (he was 17)
Well,I found Madam Blue from a friend that had her, cause my nephew needed car for his 18th so he could make his way.The car was totalled in the front and was painted with puke green primer. My friend gave it to me for 50 bucks. I wanted to teach my nephew a little about cars so he could handle his own problems as they arose. He was happy for all about 5 days, then decided that it was too much to handle and too ugly.
I have a feel for cars. when I come across them,I can tell if the car is good, bad or what have you just by running my hands over it.(I know yall think I'm crazy, but its true)My mother was the same way with material objects as well.So I guess I got that from her.Anyways, rather than throw it away,I decided to keep her cause I knew it was gonna be a good one,I also knew that it didnt want to stay with anyone else either or it would just refuse to run anymore ( I know that sounds odd too)But the minute I started to work on her she ran like a top!! My friend said it has never ran like that since he owned her and wanted to know what I did,I told him just what I told ya now. That it didnt want to be with noone else.He even said the owner before him, couldnt keep her running either. So needless to say,I kept her and started to fix her up.However I didnt know how hard it was gonna be to find parts either.

End of part one,If yall want me to continue,I will.Meanwhile how did yall come about your install (The one that youll never do without?)

 Part 2 Madam Blue

Part 2 of the rest of... THe story.

I didnt realize how hard it was gonna be to find parts untill I started to look for a fender, hood, grill, and a whole list of other things as well.

I couldnt seem to get anywheres locating anything untill I went back to Warner Robins to visit a friend and look in the yards there. I cant remember what else I went there for,but at the last minute, an old friend ( Mike,Iwho I grew up with and who is deceased now) told me he had two 2 door models at his house. One for parts the other he drove as a parts chaser.

He was a mechanic too,and his favorite car was a corolla.Anyways, he gave me the parts car so that I would have what I need to at least get M.B. have way decent. So I pulled it 80 miles to my place and started to strip that car down. Meanwhile I am driving the Nova around doing this. Man I'll tell ya,never have I been put down so much for taking on a foreign car!!
People that knew me would laugh and joke about how ugly it was.I just shrugged it off, knowing that this car was gonna be something special.I could feel it.
Well, about the time I got M.B. all cleaned up to see what I needed to do to it,The nova takes a dump!!. Clutch goes out and the tranny dies. So it was a choice to get M.B running in a few days or get a new tranny for the Nova. I flipped a coin and M.B. won. Only I didnt name her that yet. The name came later.( and I didnt know that she was allready starting her attitude then)
Well, I got her running that same afternoon, and r/r d the hood ,fender and grille .the engine was doing better than ever as all I had to do was put a bolt in the fuel pump mount. People at work and around the neighborhood was telling me things like "Ya Know R that the more I look at it the better it looks, sorta like it grows on ya,ya know? " That was being said a lot soon after I got her back on the road.( again I failed to see what was going on) End of part two.

BTW yall, This is a true story and soon youll really think "Christine" cause thats the story of my life for real. Stay tuned for part three and thanx for responses to the story so far....

 Part three

Well, anyways,I got her together, but she was still ugly (puke green primer) And I just had to do something with the interior, So I started to try some installations of the system thats in it now. This part is shown at cardomain.com. I got the idea from seeing a few old schools there, and before I put her on there, I decided to paint her which I did, after painting, I put her in that site.Soon after, I was getting people emailing me to see if I wanted another for parts etc..Well, at the same time,Mike decides that he didnt want his anymore and gave his last one to me. The engine blew getting it down here, and I wound up towing it here. I stripped it down just for spare parts (mostly body)Little did I know that his was a limited edition and had a very special engine in it. as well as a special hood. ( which I put on M.B. as a momental gesture for Mike)I saved the head but the block was shot,(it wasnt till later after I threw the pistons and things away that I should have kept them)That head is now on M.B. BTW..Okay, Now we start getting wierd. In Sept of 2003, I found another wagon up in Ohio (Scio) and bought it.(internet)So I took M.B. up there to look at it and possibly bring it back, cause I didnt have a truck at that time. Now M.B. was looking like this

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
But at that time,I thought it was not bad for having less than 1000 in it. Anyway, I got up there and looked at what is now Misty. The minute I parked M.B. next to it(Misty) she started to run bad. So I decided not to pull her and come back in a week or two with a towbar and get her.So back to Ga. I went. The next week I went for it. I got all the way to the state line (about 250 miles) when I started to here a knocking. Great!! I wasnt about to leave her there and find a way home cause I didnt want to loose everything I had in the car!I pulled off the interstate and limped back all the way on the backroads not being able to go faster than 30 mph.Needless to say, It took me about 10 hours to get back home,Right before I got to Fitzgerald, she spun a bearing!!. Crap!!! When I got home,I called the guy I was buying Misty from, that I couldnt make it,and I will try after Febuary to give me enough time to do something with the engine. Now I was stuck without transportation, and without money. So I figured why not redo M.B. again only this time, I wouldnt put her back on the road untill I was finished completely. End of part three.

Part four of The M.B. story.

Thanx yall for the comments, BTW this is a true story, and it does start to get even stranger as it goes along.Ready? Ok.......

I finally got her home and put her up on jacks for the long run, knowing that it might take me 8-10 months cause of money. That's when I came across the song Madam Blue.

However that wasnt the reason I named her that. It was just that it was the song of the day and I was hearing it for what seemed like the 100th time.

When I got her up, my next door neighbor(who just moved in) started to really look at her and told me that he had never seen a car with so much blue before and he laughed at the car and said "Why did you pick such an ugly car as this to play with ? and why the ugly cloth interior?" I said " I built this just to see how cheap I could build a showcar and get away with"He laughed again and said that if I really wanted to do something, do it with an american car.

Of course I was angry about the put down of M.B.,(I didnt tell him I got burnt out on Novas) but I didnt have to worry much, cause that afternoon he threw a rod in his as well.(things were starting to click or be coincidental? I dont know)And I went over to see what was wrong, and said,"Well,at least I got over 200 miles on a throwed rod,and still have a good block"and walked away. (Revenge was sweet!!LOL)

Mean while, for the two weeks waiting to get the money built up to go yet again,I started to tear her back down and Madam Blue came to me and I decided to name her that for all the blue in her. Remember (go to cardomain.com to see what she looked like before the second rebuild)And while I was tearing her down little things started happening cause I was mad and angry about the breakdown.

Like everytime I called it a bi*** cause I slipped or something, something would act up like a fuse blow or lights wouldnt work little things like that. One time while sanding down the metal in the trunk, I caught the end of the wire harness that goes to the rear lights and they were wrapped aroud my left hand (unnoticed)man that hurt!! I said some choice words and one of the jackstands gaveway then.coincidence?

Then about the end of the second week of down time. I decided to get away for a weekend and go camping.(had a good time but did nothing but think of M.B.How I was gonna do this or that) And finally came to peace with myself and decided to take my time and relax with it.
I started to call her by her name and started to talk to it like it was alive (Now dont tell me you dont do that either!!! cause I know you do!!) and guess what? Nothing went wrong with redoing the interior untill I started to think about the other car, like Man I need to get to Ohio and get the other car at least its running!! I didnt even say it out loud, and no sooner had I thought it,I blew an amp by touching groud, dumb dumb dumb!!!another coincidence?

But it was getting to be along time now w/out transportation, and so I finally got my best friend's bronco to pull the other car down so I can get around. I did a tune up put one of my extra pioneer radios in it,and two tires along with an oilchange and fixed a few other things as well in exchange for using his bronco.
Things were going great,I took off on a friday night right after work. Its a 1100 mile drive, and I wasnt gonna stop and play anywheres just get up there and get back.Everything was going real good untill I hit Kentucky,I saw a cloud of smoke coming from the rear end of the truck and thought, CRAP!!! whatis it now?...........end of part 4

 Part 5

Nope I aint pickin on Kentucky,it just happened that way. Now for part 5

After seeing smoke,I thought crap!! what can it be now? seems like everything's going wrong!!
Well I finally found a place to pull over and discoverded that I had a loose transmission line and it was leaking after going through the mountains, which I didnt notice cause it was night time and wasnt watching that close for anything, Anyways, fixed it and went on.
Finally I got to Ohio and the place I was going to,Scio Ohio, wierd name but it was kinda funny, yet beautifull countryside town, even smaller than Fitzgerald, getting up here took me 14 hours and I wasnt even tired! Just bored.

Hooked the wagon to the truck and started to head back.No problems so far and it was now day time Saturday morning with a great view of the country side, listening to tunes, and digging the road.
About a hundred miles just over the state line in West Va,I looked in the rearview, and dammit! I was pouring out smoke !!! and thought here I go again, but this time it wasnt a loose line! It was the front seal of the transmission.Great!!

So I stopped at an exit and found a parts store (Advance I think it was, cant remember very well, and I cant remember the town name ,But I will find it later and give it to yall)They were so helpfull! They let me use some tools and jack and stands and the side of their building to let me work on the truck. I thought it was just a plain 2wd truck untill I got under it to remove the tranny,It also had a trnsfer case built into the tranny, which made it even heavier!,and it took me from Saturday noon untill Sunday morning to change out the front seal. When I was finished,I returned everything, thanked them and finally was able to leave.

Now,since I was under it all night, and 2 days without sleep and absolutely covered with transmission fluid, dirt and just a plain mess along with the stickiness you can imagine I wasnt a happy camper, yet I kept my head and was even enjoying the ride again, untill you guessed it, Not even 10 miles further the seal blew again!! Man I was hotter than hell!! I was so mad I coulda killed something!! Anything!! If one idiot would have stopped and asked If there was anything wrong,I would have strangled him!!!,Fortunantly I was at the very next exit and was able to park at a service station and was allowed to wait it out there to get help.

As with the last break down I called a friend of mine to let him know that I broke down a second time, and he said something to the fact that he thought my trip was jinxed.. But I told him I was gonna try to get the truck fixed yet again when I could get to a parts store for another seal, but this town was like my town, the sidewalks roll up at 6pm everyday and it was a good distance away to get to it.So The owner let me wash up in her restroom which was a little help,But I couldnt get really clean and I was still feeling sticky. But I got clean enough to at least try to get some rest in the truck for the next day.

Just as I was falling a sleep, here comes this big ol cop, and I was thinking to myself,Here I go now, I'm gonna get screwed with now!!! Cause in Ga, If your broke down on the side of the road, the cops will do anything they can to either get you arrested or get you ticketed (if you dont believ me try being broke down down here) Anyways, he came up to the truck and asked me what was wrong. I told him everything about this trip, and he laughed and said that he thought I was having the worst of luck!! (Now is when I thought Ok,here I go off to jail!!)
Then he lean over and asked if I needed a hotel room or anything like that. I told him I didnt come prepared financially enough for a hotel and was gonna just stay with the truck untill the next day.He said well, in that case,I had better come with him.(Oh boy here I go now...) cause the state provides free hotel rooms for up to 5 days (I think)for stranded motorists. Man I bout went nuts over that. Told him what Ga does, and he said he understood and knew how it is in Ga,and knew I'd be a little nervouse,But not to worry, Its a program designed for safety and has saved a lot of people from severe problems. So he took me to the town that I had left 10 miles back,at the hotel at that exit.and got me signed in,and a hot meal! That was so cool!!.(Now keep in mind that's 2 breakdowns on this trip, and 1 on an attempted trip three weeks earlier)end of part 5
