 directed 1500d

i bought a refurb directed 1500d from ikesound and i think somethings wrong with it. it says it puts out 425 watt rms @ 4 ohm so i hooked it up to a jensen 10" in a .85 cubic feet box and it pushed it but not as hard as i thought it would. i was wonderin if theres any way i can test the wattage.

Theres no way that jensen 10" can handle 400+ watts rms. Try it with a larger sub. I've found directed often underrates their amps. as for testing it, not easily. You can put a few 100 watt light blubs on it as a resistive load and measure the voltage. Then use ohms law to solve for wattage if you're feeling nerdy. heh.

Why couldnt that 10 handle 400 watts? As long as its clean power and the box is designed right

check the reference sheet for your sub but I had thought jensen recommends much less, around 200 max. I've known to be wrong before though...

i know it handles more. i just hooked it up because it was laying around. its in a walmart box cuz i got it all for free. i was just sayin if i was giving that little 10 425 watts rms it should have be moving more than it was
