I was wondering how to hook these subs up since they are dual 6 ohm speakers. Amps usually run at 4, 2, 1, or 1/2 ohm, so how do you get your amp to run at 6, 3, or 12 ohm? Will this damage your amp? Do they just hook up like regular dual 4 or 2 ohm subs? I assume they do, but I'm just curious.

those subs will present either a 12,6,or 3 ohm load. 3 of those subs wired in parallel will present a 1 or 4 ohm load, 2 will present a 1.5,6,12 ohm load. to achieve a 2 ohm load you will need 6 of those subs.

So does that mean that you have to have more than two subs to be able to run them correctly? Can you run 2 of them at 3 ohms (each one wired parallel) a piece stereo into an amp that can go down to 2 ohms stereo?

yup u can you just wont get the wattage that you get at 2 ohm. rough estimate of the wattage you will get at 3 ohms = 2/(watts @ 4 ohms + watts @ 2ohms)

Why do they make them dual 6 ohm anyway? Seems that most other subs are dual 4 or 2 ohm.

Because JL Audio makes amps that run at those ohms, so if you buy Jl subs you will more lightly buy jl amps....
