 ¿?sound level meter¿?

im looking for something to measure db. some guy at radio shack said it was called a sound level meter. is the radioshack version for $50 any good. any reccomendations for one to settle some bets between friends for less than that and some feedback on how well those work would be welsome.

the radioshack one only reads to 120dB.
try www.audiocontrol.com for a very good one, or look in the first forum here. There's a group buy on meters from splmeter.com

i have the splmeter.com 150 mic. Last year it using the termlab mic it was .7 db lower then the judging lanes. So its a good mic. Wish it was a bit smaller. Thinking about the epic 160 from Audio Control down the road.
