 Neon

Yah I bet this has been asked alot. But I'm driving a 06 for Explorer and whant to install neon in the foot wells under the secound and first row seats and in the ac and heater vents and under the car and in the engine bay. All done in blue to match the paint. My question is how much would this run me for a medium quality system dont whant wireless remotes or anything just a switch to turn it all on and off.

Not being sarcastic, but depends on where you get them. I got some of mine from Ebay, but most from a friend that gave me a whole box of them and all kinds at that. You can get some good deals from ebay, just be carefull from who you get them from. And its better to buy by the bulk rather than by individual peices. All the lights I have in M.B, (and there is a lot of them) hasnt run me more than 250.00.

BTW, be very carefull when you display the blue neons (or red for that matters),In Ga,it is illegal to run blue /red lights,I only light them up at shows and my yard. R

You need to look in your vehicle and see what you need for tube sizes. For instance, i can run a tube in the footrest of my backseat thats about 32inches, but in the front i can't run a continuous long tube and had to go with two 12inch tubes. You can buy the neon out of lots of car magazines by the tube, which means you wouldn't wind up with 4 tubes that are too long. Also, you should check out the StreetGlo (think thats how its spelled) website. They make very high quality neon lights. You may want to consider using LED tubes as an alternative. As far as expense, my cost for lighting up the footrests in the front, back, and a tube in the trunk ran me only about $100-130 for a decent set of neons. (and thats with two of the tubes not included because they were broken when my brother unknowingly ran them over in the garage with his truck)
