 Wiring Question

This is hard for me to word right but I will try. I have 2 10's in a sealed box. There hooked to a 2 channel amp, not bridged but each to its own channel. But in parellel for a 2 ohm load per channel. I just ordered a monoblock amp stable down to 1 ohm. Im not quite sure but I think it has two sets of terminals for easier wiring. Question is, even tho each terminal is not really a seperate channel but tied together inside the amp will I be able to treat it that way and just wire the subs in parallel without actually running wires from one sub to the next or can someone try to figure what Im talking about. They'll need to be in parralel but if I have to run wires from one sub to the next, how do I do that without bypassing the terminals on the back of the box? Does anyone see what I'm getting at?

Hi, you have figured it out. That is for making parallel connections easy, so you don't have to split the wires to each sub but hook each sub to its own amp terminals instead ;)

Just to be sure, wiring 2 4ohm DVC subs in parallel on a mono sub will create a 1 ohm load right?

The formula is (a*b)/a+b 4*4ohm/4+4 = 16/8 = 2ohm load. So each sub is 2 ohms load. Then wiring the two subs is 2*2/2+2 = 4/4 = 1ohm so if you wire the subs' coils in parallel and also the subs to the amp in parallel you will get 1ohm load ;)

Yea, thats the way I have it hooked up currently to my 2 channel amp only on parralel on each channel. So I should be good.

The diagram there I understand and thats how I have my subs wired right now on my two channel amp. The only difference is that instead of a one ohm load each sub is seeing a 2 ohm load. Why is this?
