 I smell burning

When i have my volume at almost maxx level, and the windows are rolled up, something starts to smell like something electrical is burning, its not that bad, but its there.

If your amps are not that hot then feel the dust caps on your subs. Your coils may be getting hot, mine do. Could be your HU but you need to find what it is just in case it is non of the above.

Yea turn your gain down that makes a whole lot of freakin sense.. what a jackass, Well first where is the smell coming from and what all do you have? you should deffinitely figure it out because you don't want to catch fire.

it smells like the headunit is givin out that burning smell, its not that bad, and I got a Alpine CDA-7196 or something like that. its a 2001 model.

It helps if you push your speakers with amps. I only use the HU for the tweeter, so it stays cool. I hope it makes it last a long time.

its a 96' honda civic, I really don't think that matter, since I replaced every stock speaker wire. But it does smell like the headunit.

I don't know, I was just wondering some older ford have this crazy common ground system, but there's so many things it could be, it could just be a bad head unit. never know

maybe I should do the big three. Can someone explain, what that was again? I know one is to replace the wire to the alternator to bigger gauge wires.

Okay so he wasn't specific enough, seeing how I thought he had some subs, I told him to turn his gain down because he was probably clipping and heating his VCs. No need to be an asshole.
