2001 C5 Corvette Car Computer System
After a long period of working nights, plenty of mistakes, and just a flat out TON of work, a friend of mine, and myself designed this system, built it, and are now about 95% complete. It really shows how you can combine a car computer with a sound system.
Finished Installation pictures:

The basic rundown of the system is:
JL Audio:
* (1) 1000/1
* (2) 12W6v2
* (2) 300/4
* (2) 8W3v2
* (1 set) XR653-CS 3 way components
Alpine:
* PXA-H701
* RUX-C701
KnuKonceptz:
* (3) 2 channel RCA cables
* 0-AWG power wire
* 4-AWG power wire
* 8-AWG power wire
* Speaker Wire
Car Computer:
Revolution Systems Innovado Mobillo Car PC
The Mobillo PC feeds the audio signal via an optical output (no audio loss to interference) to the Alpine Multimedia Manager. The Alpine unit distributes the signal to 3 seperate JL Audio amplifiers.
The amplifiers power a 5-way (10 speaker) audio system consisting of:
- Three sperate drivers PER door (1" tweeter, 4" midrange, 6.5" midbass)
- Two 8" 8w3v2 subwoofer
- Two 12" 12w6v2 subwoofers
Also, we went through a few hundred pound of B-Quiet Ultimate in the process of putting this system together.

Any response/criticism/your $.02 is definately appreciated and welcome.
The monitor in the front console is a K301 touchscreen VGA USB monitor; it has 2 composite (RCA) inputs, and (1) rear view camera composite. It is motorized, and so far has been working great. We have been VERY pleased with the visual quality of this unit.

just a question, i mean i know this is an audio car, but it is also a sports car, why the hell would you add hundereds of pounds of sound deadening? no offense, it looks like a great car. also why not build your own computer? i mean it looks like a great install, just giving ideas on mabye how to make it better.

I read up on that car PC, and I'm quite impressed. Really seems like it'd be an awesome idea, especially now that I see you can have up to 320gb of HD space, opposed to the default 80gb. About how much does one of those Innovado's cost?

There are more reasons that I can count as to why we chose to put a computer in a C5. Most have to do with the associated business reasons (this is a demo car) demonstrating PC technology inside a car. We thought that having a stock C5 with a PC was not the best route for us to take, at this point in time. However, in terms on attracting attention to the PC technology, this proved to have done so at various car shows so far.
Originally, there were plans to simply put in better speakers into the doors, an amp and a sub in the back and an Alpine head unit W/LCD in the front. In a turn of events, the decision was made to make this a demo car, demonstrating the computer technology within it.
From a personal perspective: Driving a C5 with a computer and a full-blown JL Audio system integrated into the car is truly beyond words. How often do you see something like that on the road, anywhere?
About the performance: there are plans to add a $300 intake system, possibly a cam swap and several other modifications. This will significantly speed up the 'vette, and get the 0-60 times below stock.
I hope you guys can understand the basic reasons for the car, any other questions I'd be more than happy to answer.

Hey, thanks for the comments! You're right the 320GB is possibly, mainly due to the ability of incorporating dual 160GB 2.5" harddrives. The hardware and chassis design that we incorporate is honestly one of the most stable systems amongst many systems that we have tested in the past.
Right now, we are working very closely with our customers on every unit, adjusting specs, details and pricing according to what the customer wants. The base price is $1799, however, as mentioned before, we are working with the customers to tailor their systems to the way that they like and lowering the cost for them.
Please feel more than free to ask shoot us an email with any questions that you may have, or any comments/suggestions about the PCs: questions@revo-sys.com
Thanks once again guys.
