Your on a quest for the holy grail. There is no such thing as the "PERFECT BOX" Because every box will sound different in every car you put it in. KNown as the TRUNK TRAP. All i can say is save your money, go to Home Depo and purchase about 2 sheets of 3/4 MDF ($15.00 ea) and start building and rebuilding. One main thing BRACE,BRACE,BRACE. Brace your box. Hell build double thickness walls. Use the basic specs that RF gave you for the speakers but don't follow them like the 10 commandments. Good luck. Chris

here's how you make a box

im in the middle of making my box right now, im just waiting on a saw to cut the hole. here is what i found out about boxes from research. number one sealed boxes will give you very accurate high quality sound, and ported boxes will give you boomy loud thumping sound. i chose sealed because its easier and im going to be listening to motown , jazz and that kind of stuff, i bought a pioneer woofer because i heard good things about it. and they are cheap. anyway, here's what they say about sealed boxes. start with the width. the depth should be 1.4 times the width and the height should be .7 times the width. example, lets say you have a 10 inch width... the depth should be 14 and the height should be 7 inches. so now you have a box that is 7x10x14 inches. the other thing is, you need to find out what the recommended interior volume of the box should be, next you figure out what size the wood has to be to give you the calculated volume, go to home depot and buy two pieces of 2x4 ft mdf and they will cut it for you if you give them demensionss. if you want a sealed system i can calculate it for you let me know
