why?

how good (if any) do you think this system is going to be if its worth less than a dinner for your and your g/f at any bbq pit....

why dont you buy something that at least will actually work and not give you problems. when you fin "deals" like that there must be a reason why. and the fact is that with unknown brands/systems you might have this problems:
not find any remotes if lose em
not have anybody that might know how to install it and will have to try doing it
if your going to do it, then instructions are very shallow and wont be very helpfull to you
not have any warranty
not get any tech support from nobody
and the list goes on...and on...and on...

if you dont have the money to get something decent then dont do it...its better safe than sorry...

also consider that by buying it online you might not have warranty at all because most manfctrs dont offer warranty if it was not bought and installed at a authorized shop...and that means that anything goes wrong...you have lost your money....and even if you have warranty, lets say the brain goes dead (wich might happen 1 in a 1000 and could be yours) who are you going to blame? the shop who installed it is going to say not my product so its your problem, and the mfctr is going to say the shop did not installed it properly...so again...money down the drain...

i wouldn't go with either of those. I went with an even cheaper one actually but it is made by dei which also makes viper, rattler, clifford etc. And it has never failed me it is a BOA system it's real basic and simple as hell to install. Also even comes with a instructional cd if you don't know what you're doing, and offers free tech support. Heres a link to one on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-COMPLETE-REMOTE-CAR-STARTER-START-SYSTEM-BOA-165B_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33724QQihZ009QQitemZ190048738499QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW I've had zero problems with it and am happy to help if you need any help installing it if indeed you do decide to get it. keep in mind this is just pure remote start. no alarm, keyless, etc. If you want keyless with it i believe you can get the 265b such as this one..... http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-DEI-BOA-265B-REMOTE-START-KEYLESS-ENTRY-SYSTEM_W0QQitemZ120054281035QQihZ002QQcategoryZ48611QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I read this thread, bought a 165B and installed it. Took about 6 hours on a 1998 Dodge Caravan. Had trouble getting it to program, so I called DEI and got it figured out. Only $25.

Good to see it worked for you. Programming was the only thing that really gave me any troubles. I just eventually tried standing back further and it worked like a charm.
