wiring of power converters, installation of ps2 into car
im trying to install a ps2 in my car but i dont just want to follow the instructions on the booklet that came with the converter cos they dont mention capacitors and the diffrence that may make to how they're wired. may not be anything to worry about but its better to be safe than sorry. i also have concerns about grabbing the power from the distrabution block, its 0 gauge wiring and then i can use 4 gauge to the converter and then earth it at the same point as the amps. is that ok to do......also can ps2 be mounted upside down on the roof or would it skip alot or something. also any 1 that knows alot about alot is more than welcome to have a look at my system and tell me how youd set it up if it were yours.....thanks for any hep

But remember that all game systems are not designed for constant road/bass vibration, they were designed to sit on a coffee table in your house. I got a picture at home on how to wire a full size PS2 directly to 12 volt without an invertor. I think I got it from another member but I don't remember who. Personally I have only used an invertor.
its a slim line, silver, flip top model. my understanding of this model is they are less prone to jumping/freezing up. as for the wiring i read about wiring it direct and doin away with the converter. they say its easier on the charging systems cos it dosent have to produce power for both products. as u can tell im not a dive on in type of guy. id rather w8 a day and ask some questions, then to get 100 meters down the road, and have to give my flashy(LOL)chrome fire exstinguisher a run. better to be safe then sorry.. my plan of attack is too mount the converter at the back of the car, grab the power from the dist block and earth it with the amps. then i may get an auto elec to hook up a switch for me or sum 1 on to it like you seem 2 be....ps, inverter-converter....is that what you meant or is it something diffrent. thanks mate. anything else you can think of that might help a first time video/monitor installer. feel free to contact me. thanks for all your help. brad
