Got in a car wreck :(

Yep sucks. Some asshole in a truck was hauling ass (~60 mph) in a parking lot and drive through and area that he wasn't supposed to enter from and hit me from the side and pretty much tore my front end up. Heres a pic of what my car looks like:

http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/9932/60827890ik4.jpg

All his truck got was a flat tire. He was bitching at me because he said that I wasn't paying attention and that I hit him.

His insurance is going to cover this and my car has full insurance, so if it's totaled I can get another car. What should I get? I want something thats worth making fast. The #1 choice in my mind right now is a Dodge Neon SRT-4 but suggestions may change my mind.

I was just in a car accident on saturday in my friend's 2005 mustang and we hydroplaned into a wall of a restaurant, yet we walked away without any cuts.  It was amazing that the device that saved our lives was the seat belts!  The air bag didn't deploy on that car!  I hope my friend gets the full Kelley bluebook value on that car but the only thing that I walked away with was the bruising of the seat belt because we landed upside down on the driver's side!

That dodge srt4 sounds like a zippy car!

When my airbag came out, it moved my ring and pinkie finger apart fast enough to just cut it in the webbing. The funy thing is I couldn't even feel the cut, I could just see that I had been cut. Also it bruised my knuckle and caused my ring finger to swell up.

Yes, but that can happen with any car. Think about it, you're going 45 mph and in an instant second your car is stopped. All that momentum from the car has to go somewhere. All that force is going to crush the car if you come to a dead stop.

Well, insurance has told me the car is totaled. Just that damage in the picture is over $7000 (thats more than the car itself). So yea gonna need to be looking for another car soon.

ever consider the 240 SX?  great platform, lots of parts, double din opening for the stereo, decent space in the back.

Then theres the honda camp with civics, accords, integra's

Could also go german with a good used BMW or VW?

Why am I saying this?  You already know all this......duhhhh!!

Yup, and the best part is that they can hit about 150 with ease. And thats bone stock. I saw a guy out tearing around Milwaukee today hauling ass. They got a real nice sound to them.

A bone stock SRT-4 won't hit 150 with ease. They are said to have 230 HP but that's to the engine and not the wheels. Expect at most 200 to the wheels.

I'm leaning more towards getting an F-Body, such as a Camaro or a Trans-Am. An SRT-4 would stand no chance against a TT Camaro/Trans-Am/Mustang no matter what they did to the engine. Still gotta wait a week and a half though. turns out the guy that hit me didn't have insurance.

Ok, not with ease, but thats the claimed top speed. I have seen them do over 130 (we were going 120 and this guy just drove right past like it was nothing).

I firmly believe the 150 mph claim. Car and driver had it to 153. And your HP numbers dont sound right: "Brooke McClelland wrote: According to their chassis dyno, this Neon puts out 223 HP and 250 lb-ft of torque at the wheels! ... In comparison, their test of a 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R, which is rated at 175 HP, put out just 141 HP at the wheels. Apex Technology has dynoed the SRT-4 and found 248 hp - at the wheels!"

This is from a bone stock srt-4 according to what I've seen.
