 iPods, But Not

Hello sirs and m'ams:

First of all, hi! I'm new here. So I have an appropriately newb-level of question for you.

What would you guys recommend as the best non-iPod MP3 player? I've been doing research for a bit now but they're all starting to look and sound the same, and I need something to plug into my sweet retro cassette player (soon to be updated to something sweet and CD capable).

Happy new years, y' all.

zune is much better than the standard ipod but. Ipods are ALOT more convenient. there are tons more accessorie, shelp tools and connectivity options availible for them. Samsung also makes a pretty good 4gig i saw at bestbuy for about 150.

creative labs although it seems that they haven't come out with any new harddrive models...they seem to be going with flash drive players.  I still use a zen touch 40gb and 30gb zen extra.

I also hate itunes!  i used to have a 1st generation shuffle, but couldn't stand losing my playlists everytime I'd upload/download new songs to the shuffle!

 I-pod

I Tunes is a certified biotch. The player itself is great, though. I went with a Creative Vision M 60GB, cuz the software is much easier(plus I had an older Creative and was used to it).Now I just use the windows media player. Works fine

yep I hate iTunes!  Sometimes it forces you to go to the Apple store and all you want to do is pull off the old music and import new tracks

With the zune software (windows media player with a skin) it automatically downloads the cd covers as well...I tunes you now finally can get them, but its not automatic..you have to hunt for them.,
