 Power wire ?

Would it be ok to run a main 0/1 power to the back of a Ford Explorer and split it into 2 4 Gauge for 2 500/1 amps and 1 8 Gauge for a 300/4, or split it into 2 4 gauge for the 500/1 amps and a separate 8 gauge from the front to the back for the 300/4?

You're good with a single run of 1/0 gauge to the back. Then a distribution block to your amps.

Yes your fine but I wouldn't run any 8....all 4 and 1/0.....I have a mountaineer and I have 1/0 all the way back and splits into three 4 gauge..And I have 2 1000/1 and a memphis belle 1300...Just try to use alot more 1/0 than the 4 gauge...

His 300/4 may have smaller terminals, and for that matter hes not running enough power on the 4 channel to NEED 4awg to each amp, 8awg is enough for a the max power of the thing. A foot long section of 8awg can handle even those 500/1 amps with no problem assuming its fed by a large main. Only thing I wouldn't do is run a main power to each of those, as distance reduces how much it can carry. I would still say use the 1/0 for main, but you dont HAVE to run all 4gauge.

He should be fine with 2x4awg and 1 8awg after the distribution block. The question is, does he already have the 2x4awg and 1 8awg block? If he has it he can use it, no need to buy another one.

/rant

Seriously though, if you dont have the block yet, just use 4awg all around just for the sake of matching, plus its just that much more breathing room on the 4 channel. At worst you have to find a narrow 4awg terminal for the 300/4, but you probly can fit 4gauge on there no problem. Might as well oversize your wires just to be safe though right?

I have a block that goes from 0/1 to 3 4 Gauge outlets and all amps will accept up to 4 gauge wire and a minimum of 8 so thats all fine.  What i was really after is 0/1 gauge sufficient for three about 4' runs of 4 gauge or would I need to go with bigger main power? Im OK with three runs of 4 gauge from the block so I guess everthing is settled unless yall think of something else.  Feel free to let me know

Oh you are set then. No reason to use smaller wire.

2awg is like double the size of 4awg, and double again for 1/0... sorta. So basically you got 4 times as much wire than a single 4awg, and the cross section can probly handle more current in a 1/0 than 4x4awg can handle.
