Recommend a digital camera around $100

Well it's time I finally buy a digital camera, what I'm looking for is a easy to use camera that takes good/decent pictures. If you have any recommendations on a brand/ model please post it .

                       Thanks!

Of course we do just maybe ours weren't $100. Mines costed 300 but that was also a couple of years ago, it's a Vivitar vivi cam  5386. I got it at walmart.

Thanks, for at least responding to my post.

Are there any brand you recommend?

I'm just looking for something simple, with a decent picture quality.

Have a safe 4th of July!

Yeah you have a good one also. I would say Canon, Sony, Vivitar. You could probably get one like mine pretty cheap now. It's only a 5 megapixel camera but it does take some clean and clear pictures. It also has a lot of options. You should check out there website. http://www.vivitar.com/en-us/home.aspx

well for starters: Canon, Panasonic, Nikon.  I liked Panasonic because they were one of the first manufacturers to come out with the image stabilization option for those that have shaky hands when taking free hand photos.

You probably won't find a good camera for under $100...I would say if you raise your limit to $200.

Try buydig.com  You might luck out with a good P&S camera for just taking quick shots or newegg.com

Yeah, I think I'll expand my price range  a bit so I'll have more camera choice options.

 Thanks for the info!

if you're just a P&S guy, then the optical zoom shouldn't be a concern.  But if you like more accurate shots, look for a higher optical zoom.  The digital zoom is crap and bogus.  All it shows you it on the screen is how much it's going to border when it takes the shot, but the digital zoom is by no means accurate.

Sort of like the same thing wtih car audio amps and speakers...rms is the true rating you look for, not peak rating!

If you're going to be a serious photographer, then start looking at the digital SLR's.

I finally ordered ordered a camera friday night; a 10MP Nikon Coolpix S600 in black with a 2gb memory card and nikon carry case. I ended up spending more than I wanted, but that was the only way to get what I really wanted.....So I'm happy!

Thanks for the info everybody!

I ended up canceling my order for the Nikon, but Instead I got a Canon powershot SD870 IS with 8mps.

Great camera ,so far I really like it! It's got to be one of  the easiest to use camera's I've ever had. Plus it's small enough to put it in my pocket!

Thanks again !
