Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware 2008 users/ex users

My cpu is windows XP home edition. I currently have panda antivirus/antispyware 2008 and its about to expire soon and i was looking into
Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware 2008 and i was wondering if there was anybody here on this forum that uses it. How do you like it overall, has there been a virus that trend micro did not detect?? What r its pros and cons from your expiriances or what other antivirus/antispyware do you sugest..i dont want to just go to the store and buy a program without knowing if it is good or not

I've never used that particular antivirus but I use the AVG free edition and haven't had a problem with it in the past three years.

IMO you can't go wrong with NOD32 by Eset-- go with the fullpackage for the user that doesnt want a LOT of interaction with the security system. Cozies right up to your other firewall, e-mail, internet, etc. programs.

Or Comodo - you can install just the AntiVirus or go with the full package- Trojan protector called "Bo-Clean" , Firewall, Web site Verification. You can get a free version or go for the pay version and get even more in depth support-- I only recomend this for the person that wants more interaction with their systems maintenance and protection services.

Don't shy away from AVG either. A LOT of the people I help use it and it seems to hold up to some of the best.

BUT! WHATEVER YOU DO!!! DO NOT! I repeat... DO NOT! use Norton or McAffee!!!!!!

A  buddy  of  mine  has  told  me  that  nod32  works  pretty good.  Thnx  for  the  tip  but  i  already  know  to  stay  away  from  norton  and  MCafee  norton  takes  up  alot  of  computer  power.

yep I 2nd Nod32.  I used to use those other ones and they never caught as many spyware and antivirus files that NOD32 does, plus Nod32 works in the background, so it doesn't use all of your memory resources like McAfee and Norton do.  AVG was the worst because it would not find a lot of those virus files even with the paid version.
