Looking for a little protection when off-road

Ok so i have a 1970 baja bug and im going to be putting my system from my honda into this but im a little worried.  I am gonna be doing some serious bouncing around in this thing and I am worried that with the amp mounted to something solid like the back deck it might get damaged.  So I have a few questions: Is this going to be a problem or am i just worried about nothing? If anyone has a system installed in there offroad vehicle have you had any problems with it? And if this is going to be a problem is there anything i can do to help prevent something breaking? Thanks for the help.....

There's a few ways you could go.  You could either get a cheap amp and just toss it if it fails on you.  You could get a well built amp that's over-built and will handle some abuse (think about the vibration in any high powered audio system...they are built to handle a bit of shaking).   Or you could rig something to isolate the amp.

My thought would be getting two boards one to mount the amp to, and the other to mount to the car.  Drill some holes in each, pack some foam or rubber between the two boards, then use some bolts to hold them together.  Just leave the holes with the bolts loose enough that the two plates can wiggle around on the foam or rubber and the shocks aren't transferred through the bolts.
