Pioneer units - useless shuffle/random play?

I am in the market for a head unit & was testing DEH-2000MP, DEH-P3000IB at circuit city.  I found that the next button always takes you to the sequentially next track EVEN if the shuffle/random is ON. I noticed this with both WMA discs as well as MP3 discs and was quite disappointed. My guess is that the shuffle works only if you let the song play and finish itself and proceed to a new random track - is that true?  That would be VERY disappointing!

Still not fixed? May be that is the way they intend it to be. Probably not enough people care about it to reduce their sales.
