I'd like to know which is best as well.  I bought the Opti1232D and it sounded pretty good out of the box, but trying to return it because one of the voice coils went out.  It was great when it was working, but the sql isn't that great compared to a lower model kicker that I had.

I would probably go with the soundstream or the rockford fosgate.  I'm looking at a t5-12 to replace that Opti...Opti seems like a budget sub

initially it sounded better than the kicker, but it looks as though there was already damage on one of the voice coils, so I'm sending it back to have it replaced.  The lower model kicker outlasted the Opti though

probably just mishandled by the shippers would be my guess   they have a huge record of reliability

for a 15 in that price range id go with a groundpounder or a brutus tho. they are just plain sic!

so you're assuming that before it was packaged, the shippers may have accidentally damaged one of hte voice coils??

That could be a possibility as my amp's gain settings weren't even slightly pushed.  I had my lanzar opti1400d settings at 8 o' clock as I was trying to gradually break in the subs, not really cranking the head unit's volume....

yes they are made by crunch  4 15's on a 3000d pro amp broke a few records the last 3  or 4 yrs.  install has alot to do with it as well.

when they were still available online (the old model is not now but the new model is and doesn't lite up)  they went for anywhere between 150 -200 each   i sell em for 100 + actual shipping no packing crap fees.

I had a crunch amp.  I would still prefer the power acoustik instead since that would've been a better budget amp.  Crunch amp put out good power at 4ohms, but at 2ohm for 2 channels, it was ok...sometimes it cut out because it got too hot at times

5 or 6 weeks ago i did a 1400.4  4 channel powerzone (cheapest crunch line) on 2 10" mtx 5500 subs at 2 ohm and it never gets hot and it is raping those subs bad  lolz.

crunch amps are actually overrated and their power ratings are usually dynamic, so they're not really putting out rated power.  They're somewhat good for budget amps.  The groundpounder series is much better though

if you know how to derive rms from dynamic, the p series crunch actually does rated all day at any ohm.  dynamic is a market style rating for a particular type of customer.   I have never seen a pzi series do less than about 1/2 the dynamic unless it was damaged.  a 1400.4 will put out a true 350-375 rms x2 @ 4 ohms and thumps them little 5500 series mtx woofers hard.   for 100 bux you cant beat it for clean a/b power.  the build quality isn't great but it doesn't suck either tho.  if you need higher end absolutely ,  there are better choices.   but on a budget the price is right on and way better than low line Power accoustic IMO.  I wouldn't use lowend PA if it was free if that tells you how much I think of it.  I do like the higher end stuff quite a bit tho. its a good value.

all crunch amps except the pro series is rated @ dynamic power  which is why people that don't know amp ratings and cea specs ect. assume they are overrated.

read this for a much better explanation of it from Mike in product development:

http://teammaxxsonics.com/forums/index.php?s=8ca397de1699b66c84c43bdf8d71ee32&showtopic=2171

it is a topic about the rating scheme on the crunch line.  btw  Big names like MTX do it too just an FYI.  1 of my fellow Maxxsonics dealers is that last post and he cant keep crunch in stock.  and he sells alot of very big name products as well.
