Memphis M Class amp install....have questions/issues...
I recently installed the M Class 16-MC4.75 on two sets of Boston Acoustics Pro 6.5's and the M Class 16-MC1.1100 on two Boston Acoustics 10 inch subs. The head unit is an Eclipse AVN 726E. I have the gains turned all the way down on the 4.75 amp and I still can't turn the volume on the HU all the way up, without distorting some. I noticed that the amps have a switch that says X1 at one position and X10 on the other position. It is labeled input sens. I have these switches on both amps on X1. If I switch them to X10, the sound is greatly decreased. Do I need to have them on X10, then increase the actual gain on the amps, to increase the sound, or am I going about this wrong?
Head unit supposedly has 5V preamp out......Thanks for any help on this matter :)

It was labeled Input Sensitivty.......this is why I was thinking it was gain related. As far as the sound......the mids sound great, but it's just the fact that they are a little louder then I wanted, as I can't turn it up all the way.......The Eclipse volume goes to 80 and I can make it to about 72 or so, before you can start hearing them distort....along with the subs.......I tried the X10 while ago and it made the sound decrease so much, that I could crank the head unit all the way up and raise the gains all the way and it wasn't near as loud as it is now........I've been tweeking on it for about 2 hours now.........sounds somewhat better, but I'm gonna go play with the amps a little more. I appreciate the help. Thanks!

the x1 - x10 is the frequency multiplier set it to x10 for mids you are x'ing it over for bass which is why it distorts.
It's has nothing to do w/the xover.
It's Memphis' verson of a switchable input sens. Example: X1=.2 volts, X10= 2 volts Just like JL's slash series has a multiple sens switch.
