building a box. includes passive radiator.. = need advice
well guys, as the title suggests im building a sub box to suit a boston spg555 sub, and spg-tr passive radiator.. they are both oval in shape, im sure you know the ones... :)
this is the first time ive done an install using one of these. and i wanted to know if there is anything i need to know..
the freind who wants it built said just place the P/Radiator on the same face/baffle as the sub... and build the box to the same sealed specs as the 12inch g5 subs... from memory he said about 1.3 cubic feet gross.. does this sound right?? should it be abit bigger/smaller then that, or is there a specific sub box designed for this combo i can build too..
he said the link to that combo was down so just to build to the sealed specs of the g5.. right, or wrong to do??
also, what is 1.3 cubes in ltrs??
thanks in advance for any advice on building this this..

I personally don't get online much during the summer...too much good stuff to do outdoors.
PR's do NOT need to be mounted on the same side as the driver....like a port, they can go anywhere, and yes I think these are designed to work in quite a small box. I'd suggest just calling BA....they have Americans that answer the phone right up in Peabody, MA and they're very helpful.

thanks for that...
its all self taught DIY work.. just outta love for car audio installs i taught myself to fibreglass, and right from the word go ive loved it... wish i had of got into this when i was in my teems, instead of late 20s, id be 20 times better then i am now, and probably wouldve persued a carrer in it..
but then again, they say dont make your hobby your career, or youll end upo hating it, so maybe its best i didnt..
thanks again..
BTW, the install is done, the cars back with the customer, and he is stoked with it...
he ended up buying some pre made Apillars for it, and they look pretty cool.. ill add pics tomorrow..
the spg555 sub and passive sound pretty good imho, as good as anything else in that price range.. why the went oval, i dont know, but it works ok i guess.. his kenwood head unit is about the best kenwood ive ever seen... its got time alignment and pahase swap on each speaker, dsp, p-eq, slope and filter settings like any high end unit, and a pretty cool screen saver, and images too... colour screen of course..
blah blah blah, lol,
cheers..
BRAD....
