Take a look at this article. It might give you a better understanding of the pros and cons of each box. For someone to say that one box is better than another is ignorant, and they clearly do not know what they are talking about; it’s all subjective. I talked to a sales person a few days ago at a local stereo shop and he was trying to push a certain box; must have been a sales quota thing going on. He couldn't give me any solid info on why this particular box was the best besides the fact that he said it was; kinda pissed me off at how little these guys actually know.

I'm in the process of getting a dual box for my two subs that are almost exactly the same as yours (RFP3812 rather then RFP3412), and I have a box that i just took my single out of. Its sealed, and it matches the requirments for the cubic feet that your sub needs. It's ¾in particle board if you want to look at it i can take some pictures.
