 Sub Port

I've heard of (mind you, heard of) people porting subs from the bed of trucks into the cab... now in theory if this is true......

Can I port my sub from my trunk, cut a whole in the back deck to put in an aero port from the box directly to the back deck, firing it directly into the back window.....

Now if this theory works wouldn't I get a db gain by doing this from firing off the back window, and the seats not eating the sound from the sub? (db gain theory from the hatchback db gain..... just a theory)

If anyone has anything they could verify this, or add to it.... Any knowledge would be greatly helpful

if you are porting the sub on the outside yes you do do what is called a blow thru port just like you described.  works great alot of spl guys do it in trunk cars.

you can do a 4th order bandpass box, with the port either fully or partually  external to the sub box with the end the the port ending at the rear deck.

Yes, generally this is done with bandpass.  It is effective but quite a bit of work.   Make sure you use ample port area..

not sure I want to mess with it, I don't have specs for bandpass... think I'm just gonna do a vented considering  I was gonna do a fiberglass enclosure, and get a fold down seat to put in my car
