 Volume changes

I've got a pioneer head unit (don't know what model off the top of my head). Some cds you have to turn the volume up to 50 out of 62. Then some only 43 out of 62. Usually store bought ones will be loud at 43. The burned copies you have to turn up a lot louder. But even some store bought cds, like pink floyd, you have to turn it up to like 47 to get loud. What's up with this. Would a different h/u help. Never had this problem in any other cd player.

A newer HU wouldn't matter. It's the record quality of the album. Store bought will be best as there is 0 compression. The older the album is, the less quality, not really that, but the less they brought the signal up. Today they like to raise the signal on the recording to get more umph out of it. Burnt and DLed music is compressed lowering the signal so you have to turn it up in the long run to get the same output.
