 Crank Position Sensor replacement

Can someone please tell me how to locate the dodge auto parts Crank Position Sensor to see if I can replace it on my own. Also, if i do replace it will that remove the service engine soon light or it has been done in a different way.

The crank position sensor could be on the underside of the motor, up front by the balancer or back towards the transmission. I have seen different cars have them in different places. Try and check out a Chiltons manual or a dodge forum to be certain where it is at. Sorry, i'm not a dodge guy.

My daughter needed one in her PT but it wouldn't even crank over until it was replaced.

Is the crank positions sensor what the OBD II codes are telling you? I wouldn't change it unless it's throwing a crank position sensor code.

What symptoms are making you think it's the sensor?
