 15 inch TypeR

Does anyone, besides alpine tech service, have an opinion about the Alpine 15 typeR?

I used to have one bro. A 1522D, and it was loud and clear. With the right box and at least 500 watts rms this sub will thump. It is rated at 750rms, but have heard of many folks running 1000rms all day with no problem. Great sub for the money.

tjsaudio has no idea what he's talking about. i don't own the type R's, but I know they are better than the Type S's and I own 2 12's. And they hit hard and are loud as hell. ppl can hear my shit from down the street. So obviously the Type R's will be doing even better. IMO Alpines are EXTREMELY good for how cheap they are.

Read this.. http://www.maxxsonics.com/corporate/news_Hifon_colossusoutlawed.html ive had a single type r and it really hit hard.. i was running it on a lanzar opti1400d at two ohms.. i thought it was great until i found a cheapo sub(some russian discontinued sub single 4 ohm vc capable of handling 500wrms) on ebay that cost me $30 (including shipping) that produced the same bass.. im not saying the type r is a bad sub, i actually liked mines.. it had the ribbed surround ( or whatever) and it looked different from anything anyone else around my area had seen.. but what i am saying is that a xx-collosus amplifier would murder a type r.. i think i was putting 6-700 watts to the sub and not reaching its full power but that xx-collosus puts 1600WRMS more then double what i had, soo i think he tjsaudio has more of an idea of what he's talking about that you would like to admit.
