First decide if the price is picking the products you want. If so, you're limited by that and therefore you have no decision to make. For myself, or any other serious enthusiast, probably not recommended. Then again, for the first system, whats it matter? That's better than what I started with.

i think what he is getting at is. Are you planing on buying a system one time and getting everything that you will ever want in one shot and then call it good, or are you looking for a start and plan to upgrade as you go or as moneys permit???? as far as a starter system goes for the new to car audio/do it your self-er, yes that is a great budget/buy that has everything worked out for you where all the equipment is going to work well with each other and all you have to do is hook it all up and press play.... but it is a generic set up and can only yield generic results. a real quality built sound system takes some planing and experimenting with the car and some different equipment to get great results. maybe what i am saying is that if you are just looking for a cheap easy install to get some bass in your ride the kit is not bad, or not a bad start. but if you know that you will be wanting bigger and better in a few months than you may want to look onto a different direction....you propose this idea: Uploaded with ImageShack.us not bad in my opinion, this is what i have done to my 02chevy just for reference: Uploaded with ImageShack.us the seat is folded up, this is over the top maybe so but the roof is the limit!!!!(ya i am showing off i know but i cant help it.)
