 trouble with getting system setup?!?!

i jus recently traded my old system and got a new one setup and after getting it all hooked up, the subwoofer barely hit. i have an MA Audio hk2000d hooked up to an Orion HCCA 12 inch sub (bought from a friend and it pounded) and the amp is definitely capable of pushing a sub that big because i got the amp from a guy who had a FI 15 inch subwoofer. when i took my old system out tho my ground wire and power wire touched and there was a little spark. so im wondering if that is the problem because everything was fine before i took it all out. i even checked the fuse hooked up to the battery and it was perfectly fine. i took my headunit out also to see if the rca's were unhooked or anything because i tugged them a lil when i took my old amp out, but they were all hooked up. so if someone could PLEASE help me out that'd be greatly appreciated.

I'll bet dollars to pesos that you are not generating enough power on your vehicle alone. Before your amp makes the power you think it is suppose to, your vehicle has to generate that power. You cant run a 2000w amp without 2000w service capabilities in the vehicle's electrical service....Kapish?

i would bet that he just needs a second battery....I used to run a mojo 4000D and 2 15" subs in a wall with one extra batt in the rear and my alt was only 114 amp and had no issues...make sure you do the big three for this.

also get your amp checked out...if your wires sparked youmight have fried something in the amp.

Get a volt meter check your power see what it is when car is running with nothing on.Then bump up your music take another reading..it should not drop below 12 volts if it is your not getting enough volts. The big 3 and a couple batterys should help. Now on the wires touching this is a bad thing..you might wanna get the amp checked in case you damaged it if you did hurt it and continue to use it you will fry it to no repair.
