Low bass coming from subs constantly.

I have a 2000 mustang gt without the mach system and I hooked up a dvd player, 2 subs and an amp.  I had this hooked up for a couple years but I just rewired everything with better cables.  Anyways as soon as I turn the car on even with the music off or down there is a constant low bass coming from the subs.  I already tried 2 different remote wires, 3 different rca's and 2 amps, so I don't think it is any of those.  I also grouned and regrounded multiple times.  I'd appreciate any ideas that I havent thought of already.

do you have a meter? prefer digitil, but analogs is fine. there is not much in the electronics world that cannot be justified with the help of a meter or a oscope.

Worked for 2 years and you just decided to change wires? Like routine maintenance? Do not ground and re-ground that is pointless! Ground is ground, find it, hook it up and leave it. What is better wire? Either it is proper and operating normal, or was incorrect to begin with. The sound comes through the subs with the amp off? I was not aware that it was a possibility!

I upgraded the wiring for better sound quality.  There are differences in wires.  Better shielding, one of my rca's wasnt proper length ect.  Either way that doesnt really matter.  The sound comes form the subs when the amp is on it's just constant.  The reason why I regrounded a couple times is because I wanted to try different areas on the cars body.  Sometimes there is interference from bad welds on a unibody car.  Anyone think that a ground loop isolator might help?   http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Fierce+Audio+-+Ground+Loop+Isolator+-+Black/9855136.p?id=1218186610567&skuId=9855136&st=ground

What kind of h/u. You might need to ground your rcas. If it's a Pioneer it's almost mandatory.

I have a AVH-P5700 dvd player.  I think it's more than 2 years old.

I had this issue on a vehicle but was never able to resolve it. Even grounding the RCA's didnt help. It was derived from NOT disconnecting the Neg cable from the battery terminal. Prior to replacing the head unit, I was able to muffle the sound with some PAC product that connected inline with the RCA cable.
