tv tuner bad reception need help...

I just hooked up a tv tuner XO Vision tv tuner with high diversity antenna. it has a fm modulator as well, problem im having is that there is a buzzing sound when im watching tv, like the reception is not good. Also, I am only able to get certain channels. Any help or at least pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

That's just the nature of the beast. IMO, TV tuners for the car are useless. You'll get average reception when the car is stationary, but when you start to move, the reception will be bad. Just my $0.02

i also agree, they are never going to be as good as in your home. the best route is to have a dvd player and use that.

old post yes.........but anyone lookin at this may actually believe you guys. well your not totally wrong.....TV tuners in cars arent that good if they use the old style coaxial wire antenna. If your setup uses a "4 channel diversity" antenna and you live anywhere near a signal it will be great. I used to have that problem before with my older antennas but this newer technology really works. I can drive all over town and pick up a cleaner signal at 80mph than if i hook up rabbit ears to my garage tv. For the most part CRYSTAL CLEAR. Look into it if you want TV in your car.

this doesnt apply if you live in the mountains, the desert, or a canyon type area. Its mainly for those who live in civilization.

I've hooked up quite a few of the 4 ch diversity antennas on Kenwood and Pioneer units, and while the tv reception is better than the coaxial antenna...it was still far from crystal clear. It might have something to do w/ the area you are in or the signal strength where you are compared to here...but reception was always mediocre at best.

that is also what i have seen. this was in atlanta and all around the surrounding areas. like i said before, usually a dvd player will get the most of of a tv in your vehicle.

I did the search and found this thread. I was thinking about installing a TV tuner for my avic N2: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_2007714_236548445,00.html I don't want waste the money and my time installing this if it doesn't work that good. Anyone here that lives in a populated area with a N2 and a TV tuner have any comments on this ? Other Question !? Is it just local channels ? Thanks!
