 Amp Wiring

Sorry for the silly question but I just want to make sure I'm wiring things right.  Here's what I'm up against.  I've got a Clairion M309 deck and it has 8 RCA connections coming from the deck (should be line out).  I've also got a 4 channel Boss amp and it has four RCA cables for the line in and of course they are labeled 1, 2, 3, & 4 channel.   Do I use four of the RCA connections off the deck and couple them to the four RCA connections on the amp?   I've done this and really wasn't impressed by the output of the speakers.   Maybe I've got to adjust the amp?   Anyhow I thought I'd start at the beginning and make sure this is right.   Thanks for the help in advance.

Ok, I've got this amp working great now on to the next issue.   I've got a Clarion XN3210 amp running a Alpine 10" sub and it really works great however when I turn the volume down the sub still pounds.  Any ideas on why the sub volume won't turn down with the rest of the system?  I read the amp manual again last and am not any smarter.  Could it be the RCA leads on the deck?  It's a Clarion M309 and there are ten leads.  Four go to my amp to power my tower speakers , four that would normally be used to power my stock speakers but I'm using the wires out the back of the deck instead, and the final two should be for the sub (marked stationary speaker or something like that).  Any help would be much appreciated.

Your volume on the headunit is too low and your gain on the amp is too high. Change that and you will be set.

Ok the wires that go to the amp for the sub are marked "fixed audio output" so I'm assuming that is why the sub volume doesn't adjust with the rest of the system.  Thoughts???

that would be rare. Most head unit's rca outs are in relation the volume on the headunit.

That output may for a digital signal input of some sort. Most "Fixed Audio Output" devices are associated with home theater systems. Never heard of this for a car audio application. Good Luck.
