 Subtle Head Unit Suggestions?

Hey guys, first post here for me. I've had my Camry broken into twice, stereo stolen twice, both times it was a pretty noticeable head unit (Pioneers, chrome parts, etc). To hopefully prevent this, do you guys have any recommendations based on these criteria? Very subtle almost factory look, iPhone 4 charging/playing capability, around $150. Car audio isn't one of my hobbies anymore, I just like my music too much to go back to the factory stereo and CD's. I know I can answer a ton of questions the average person has about my hobbies, so hopefully you guys can do the same for me! Thanks in advance for any input.

The Pioneer deh-3300ub is nice for a cheap h/u. It has an aux and usb input on the front. It is compatible with your iphone 4. I actually have this in my work truck and it costs around $90. The only thing is that it's not to factory looking. It also has this cool sound restoration tool that cleans up the music.

Same exact one my local sound shop recommended, I believe, so that is probably the one to go with. Thanks!

No problem, I've always liked pioneer. To me they have the best h/u with the best options. They are also not that pricey until you get into the avic line. You won't be disappointed.

My only concern with it is that I was hoping for one that could almost look factory from someone just peeking in- but I'm seeing that 2-DIN type receivers tend to cost quite a bit more. I guess I'll just make sure to remove the face plate at the end of the day every day, which I should have been doing before anyway really. I also have learned about DMR/mechless head units which I really love the idea of, like this Clarion unit that I've seen go for around $140-150. http://www.clarion.com/us/en/products/2011/audio/source_units/bluetooth_usb/FZ501/us-en-product-pf_1259459365463.html

how about a hidden face plate? Tear off the face of the oem radio and place it in front of the replacement!

Lol KJM01 your making this way too hard. Just remember to remove the faceplate every time you leave the vehicle. Any smart thief won't steal a head unit without the faceplate because then its useless lol. And I agree the 3300 is a very good choice I have the 4300 and I love it.

I dont know about that. It is easy to find faceplates on ebay, i've seen them for my radio if anyone steals mine then there is always a way around it.Thats why I pulled off any info about the radio in my car, so if anyone steals it they really wont know what it is

Some people will steal anything. Just take the faceplate off and maybe get darker tint. Maybe it's just the area you live? Since you said it's happened twice, it could be the same guy. JVC are basic units, around 80$ and you get Aux capabilities.
